Those Without Time Poem by G J Salgado

Those Without Time

Rating: 4.5

I thought of you when I woke up today
And remembered what you said to me yesterday

I wondered if it were still true
And I looked around to find you

I wanted to see you and ask
Why you visited me from the past

I want to ask if your words were from your soul
Were they an illusion of someone I need to know

What do the words of what you said even mean
Was any of it real or was it only a dream

You reminded me of someone I wanted to be
But once I realized that person was not even me

I was trapped between my childhood fantasies
Captured by everything that were only memories

I bit of a fruit that I thought to be everlasting
Hearing voices before they knew how to sing

They knew that I was the one that had been bitten
Made from everything that was left stricken

As time will test their empty knowledge within
The time of which I cannot be has never been

But we will not speak of that right now
For the future will show us how

It always does when the past lives in me
For the time is all that we've had in between

Thoughts of a different world have been brought
Which are the things deceived were caught

A last chance to bask in the sun
To prove to you that I am the one

Taking a stand against who I once was
Just to say that I am not the same as always

Driven by the ones that have used me who make
Me of whom I have conquered by those that take

All that used to be have become forgotten
Taken by the hands of time to be forsaken

I will not continue to weep
Or lose sleep

For those that exist without what they find
Ones that are lost within devious minds

Anything that leaves a reason of a lost rhyme
Without those that are those without time
