This place of my Love
Is a quick sand with tourist attraction
Like a self-aware mouse knowing
That this cheese will be the death of me

What do I do
When the one who breaks my heart
Is still the one that possess it?

Yet in her hands, the shattered pieces
Are like fragment of rubies
The hopeful fragrance of crushed roses

.
Why do I keep dashing through this mine fields
With a dagger to my hearth
Oh! What brilliant folly

.
Seeking the meadows of bliss
In the birth place of pain
The oasis of comfort in the deserts of despair
The isle of affection in the tempest of disdain

.
This place of my love - where vapours of sorrow
Leak through my eye pores
When the flames of passion melt love into disasters

.
I wonder how God does it
Continually, consistently chasing
The very ones who keep rejecting Him

.

This lost love of mine Is an allegory to His
Oh teach me love Abba
A lesson in heartbreak is not enough

This pain of mine; to Him
Is all too familiar
Betrayed, deserted, forsaken

.
Even I abhorred His advances
Yet irrespective of who was wronged
He kept coming, He kept proposing

.
But unlike him, I aint no perfect lover
Measured and weighed; found flawed, found wanting
So my lovepire was stolen from me

.
But like His prophecy
I wish this narrative ends the same
That the chasing is peaked at a feast
Of a bride adorned - worthy of a king

.
Teach me love Father
Let me too taste her sweetness
in the dawn of her victories

.
So for the lily that grows
Only on this treacherous plane
I will come

.
For the wine that flows
Only when I'm pressed
I will come

.
For the aroma that is released
Only when I am crushed
I will come
