This Child Poem by Brittany Graviet

This Child

Oh Lord so holy,
My divine,
Why did you take,
This child of mine?

Have I wronged you?
Have I failed?
Did I but miss,
What life entailed?

When I had her,
I did not see,
How her sweet heart,
Would die by me.

And then my prayers
So swiftly changed.
I asked “Dear Lord,
Was this arranged? ”

Oh Lord so holy,
My divine.
Please watch over
This child of mine

I know she’s lovely,
She’s so sublime.
Please take care of,
Her soul through time.

Oh Lord so holy,
My divine.
I thank thee that,
This child was mine.
