These Days Are Gone. Poem by Elorm Dogbo

These Days Are Gone.

Gone are the days
When folks provided for me
And the days I was care free
Gone are the days
I feel shy to express what I feel
Within and out of me
Gone are the days
People mock me
Because I had not any
Gone are the days
I could stand for hunger
Because in wealth, I was not stronger
Gone are the days
I desired to be overseas
Because it was hard in African countries
Gone are the days
I did not have much to say
At the decisions of yesterday
Gone are the days
That great sorrow
Made my life so hollow
Gone are the days
When I had only one
All these days are gone.
