There Is A Silence Poem by noel maddock

There Is A Silence

You leave a silence in your wake,
In which I luxuriate.
You leave a silence in your wake,
Which I am loathe to break.
You leave a silence in your wake,
Through which the rain and fridge,
In your wake,
The still irregular beat of my heart,
Communicates.

What is this?
What are these happenings,
That speak in silence,
Beyond rational understanding?
What are these consequences;
Of our baring all,
Our trumpet skins,
Our whispered clarion call?
