Their Story Poem by Ann Mac

Their Story

He defined love in a different way
'No it can't be measured with distance' he said
Not even the physical presence of that someone
For some time, it was them

The first message ever written... typed
The first hello heard over the phone
The first glimpse of his face on camera
She felt butterflies on her stomach

Every single day they long for time,
for time to move fast
And each new day is closer to the day they'll meet,
they'll meet face to face

Surely time went by
And they saw each other
Greeted with wide smiles
Can't get enough

The world stopped turning
The clock stopped ticking
The day felt like minute
And reality strikes

It's not always rainbows and butterflies
not always a smooth road
A storm made its way to them
and they got no shelter
