The Words A Fair Go Poem by Francis Duggan

The Words A Fair Go

Some people in their thinking do seem rather small
Their idea of a fair go does not include all
Those they see as different to them from their circle they exclude
And in some of their ways they seem racist and rude
The words of a fair go to all always should apply
Though this of some people some choose to deny
Red is the blood we are all born with to bleed
And this does apply to every gender, race and creed
A fair go is not a fair go if it does not include everyone
As well as the wealthy celebrities to the poorest and their daughter and son
Many who use the words a fair go by their actions stand accused
That a beautiful saying by them is being abused
Since many who use the words a fair go exclude quite a few
And this is not saying anything that is new.
