The Wish Poem by Louise Gluck

The Wish

Rating: 5.0

Remember that time you made the wish?

I make a lot of wishes.

The time I lied to you
about the butterfly. I always wondered
what you wished for.

What do you think I wished for?

I don't know. That I'd come back,
that we'd somehow be together in the end.

I wished for what I always wish for.
I wished for another poem.

I wished for what I always wish for. I wished for another poem. /// superb and fantastic poem penned/ just like it/// Life is fast, it goes on endlessly, there is no end to expectations; Continues with the boundless imagination of words; Which eventually becomes the basis of becoming a poet of poetry in this life

My heartiest congratulations, dear poet, on your being honoured with the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2020! 'I wished for another poem' - what better a wish could it be, for a would be Nobel Laureate Poet?
