The Wisdom of My Sister
A wise woman knows
That a man who knows
The maze of her mind
As well as the terrain of her skin
Can bring out of her exquisite visions.
A wise man knows
That a woman who respects his strengths
And accepts his fears as their dark companions
Can settle the restlessness that threatens his self-possession.
The wise among us know
That alone we may be whole
But when we recognize the alchemy
Of two souls in communion
We begin to see meaning in life.
