The Wildflower Woman Poem by Francis Duggan

The Wildflower Woman

She is known as The Wildflower Woman her hair is silvery gray
And in the Town Park i see her picking wildflowers every day
Of the Spring and the Summer she has a flower addiction one might say
And those who have known her for years say she has always been this way,
A bunch of wildflowers every day her rooms adorned with dried wildflowers
As memories for her of the brighter days through Winter's dreary hours
Tis said she's not right in the head by the judgemental kind
Those who in everybody different to themselves some serious flaw will find,
I often meet The Wildflower Woman she has a lovely smile
A person who loves Nature and one quite free of guile
She buys bird seed for the wild birds of her backyard and she loves the wild and free
And in the ways of Nature few are as knowledgeable as she
The one known as The Wildflower Woman so lovely yet so shy
When the wildflowers are plentiful she plucks them for to dry.
