The Wall Poem by Daisy Pereira

The Wall

Rating: 5.0

When it falls
the lame walks
the blind sees
the deaf hears
the dead resurrects
from the graves.

See the orange blood stains
decorates the medallion of warriors!

Fight for freedom
for liberty
for equality
but with a heart
which sees tears
and dreams of humanity.

When the wall falls
the divide collapse
the distance decreases
the difference fades.

All for one
one for all
there is no they or we
only us remains.

You and I hug
he and she kisses
like which ended
the second world war
the humanity embraces
the new sunshine.

Sometimes
destroying the wall is
more important
than
mending an old one.

I love this work, in a world where doors to often are closed, this speaks tenderly of doors that open.
