The Uniqueness Of Prayer

God has blessed us with the means
To communicate with our Creator
We have the capicity to know Him
By coming to know the Saviour
For as it is written in the Word
I and my Father are one
By the wonderful uniqueness of prayer
Faith's journey is begun

No man cometh unto the Son
Unless he's drawn by the Father
The Spirit knows our innermost being
He searches the heart's far deeper
And when our spirit is so moved
To seek to know our God
Here begins the uniqueness of prayer
To cry out to Him as we should

God be merciful to me a sinner
Sure shows a responsive heart
When we seek to know the Lord
Then Heaven will do its part
Repentance as to our sin being critical
Turn ye why will you die
Call upon that name of Jesus
And God will surely draw nigh

Praise God for the uniqueness of prayer
I can come to the throne of grace
And bring forth there all my petitions
That are on my daily plate
And if my heart is free from sin
Not tainted with iniquity
I shall have the things requested
If they are in God's will for me

Help me Lord to draw nigh
And make it a discipline
To daily have a time with you
And help me in my praying
To praise You first for who You are
And for what You have done for me
For it was through the uniqueness of prayer
By Your Spirit I came to Thee!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
