The Two C`s Poem by Dickens Joseph Sawo

The Two C`s

The diagnosis was in part expected,
An old adversary ready to attack once more,
Realisation,
Self pity,
Why me?
Denial,
They have got it wrong,
Morbid and negative thoughts,
On the worst scenario,
Ones own mortality in question,
The host a battlefield,
Positive attitude to become a victor again,
A warrior, intravenuosly administered,
In order to attack the predator,
Time marches on,
And a soul relies on a chemical, toxic, cocktail,
Plummeting to in describable depths
The soaring to heights of encouraging analysis,
Edging slowly towards remission
The prospect of a future now on my side.
