The Tragedy At Virginia Tech, April 16th,2007

Rating: 5.0

What sacrifice decreed -
the evil done, the heart
resisting - has spoken
plainly in this
senseless crime,
and banished hint
of Deific mercy
for these
forsaken children
of that Infinite Mind.

What happens when
the foolish, desperate
pawn of unfulfilled
desires,
is armed in all
its wickedness,
with punishing death,
and rapid fire?
Has this tormented
madness sprung
out of range
of Sacred Eye?
Then how profane
and murderous
are Heaven's laws
applied.

What the mind can will,
the impetuous beast
may viciously enact.
Yet, if corporeal life
must human hopes
reflect,
within each fluid,
newborn soul,
we need to trawl
forbearance, kindness,
empathy and
tranquil tact.

Such virtues are
the only Gods
that consummate our
earthly promise,
that give us strength
to transmutate to
healing, all our
deadly wantonness.
