The Sunrise In Your Eyes Poem by O. A.

The Sunrise In Your Eyes

The Sunrise in Your Eyes

Every morning as I wake up
And look over at you sleeping
I count my blessings once more
And thank the good lord again
You never walked out the door...
And as I make breakfast for you
Brewing hot cups of coffee for two
I stare out the porcelain windows
And then I stare back at you now
And I realize that this is a GREAT LIFE.
Living here, out in the countryside
Watching the busy world pass by
Watching the birds in the skies, fly...

Every morning as I wake up
And look over at you sleeping
I count my blessings once more
And thank the good lord again
You never walked out the door...
And as I prepare for my day at work
In my office in the guest house now
I am grateful that I know you're good
You are taken care of as you should
And I know you have all you do need
As you go upstairs in your Art Studio
And pull out books from our shelves
And begin to paint a portrait of trees...

Every morning as I wake up
And look over at you sleeping
I count my blessings once more
And thank the good lord again
You never walked out the door...
And as every man does when happy
I realize my day may seem perfect
To most people looking into our lives.
I am just thrilled I made you my wife
And the best part of my day now, no lie
Is in the morning, when I see the Sun
When I see the Sunrise in your eyes
I realize, we have a BEAUTIFUL LIFE...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem will take a lifetime to manifest itself: idyllic, idealistic, and epic, its reminiscent of the peaceful happy life I imagine in my dreams with the woman I love... Is it realistic, who knows? But I hope.
