The Summer Moon - Translation Poem Of ĐoàN Văn Cừ: Trăng Hè Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Inside a house, a swinging hammock emits creaking sounds,
A dog sleeps slightly on top of the front door-steps,
A shade of tree floats near a hedge,
Deserted night, quiet people, tranquil landscape.

An old man rests on his back, in the middle of his yard,
Silver moonlight glitters through betel palm leaves.
A little boy stands leaning over a bamboo bed,
He watches the shadow of a cat moving around his legs.

Several young country girls gather by the well
They walk home happily together in small groups,
Two heavy water cans rest on their shoulders
Rhythmic sounds from their loads enter a bamboo-lined alley.

Inside the hamlet, it is now after the midnight
Sounds of rice pounding completely stopped.
Setting moon is sitting on a mountain top
Fire worms fly across a body of black water.

Sounds from a snail shell hoot insistently
Shaking winds cause a row of old bamboo trees to grind.
Stars of heavens fall like tears, one by one
Smoky mists on the field cover shades of dreams.

TRĂNG HÈ


Tiếng võng trong nhà kẽo kẹt đưa,
Đầu thềm con chó ngủ lơ mơ,
Bóng cây lơi lả bên hàng dậu,
Đêm vắng, người im, cảnh lặng tờ.

Ông lão nằm chơi ở giữa sân,
Tàu cau lấp loáng ánh trăng ngân.
Thằng cu đứng vịn bên thành chõng,
Ngắm bóng con mèo quyện dưới chân.

Bên giếng, dăm cô gái xứ quê
Từng đàn vui vẻ rủ nhau về,
Trên vai nặng trĩu đôi thùng nước,
Kĩu kịt đi vào lối cổng tre.

Trong xóm giờ lâu quá nửa đêm,
Tiếng chày giã gạo đã ngừng im.
Trăng tà hạ xuống ngangđầu núi,
Đom đóm bay qua dải nước đen.

Tiếng ốc trên chòi rúc thiết tha,
Gió lay cót két rặng tre già.
Sao trời từng chiếc rơi thành lệ,
Sương khói bên đồng ủ bóng mơ.
