The Soul - Touching Voice Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Soul - Touching Voice

Swarnalatha' voice in a Tamil film song
Makes me weep for long at heart!
She is dead but not her music.
In the song, "In the grove beside the river",
her desires are boundless to enjoy life
With her husband wonderful.
But being shorn of her desires
She is destined tostand single to face life.
The refrain of the two lines,
"Everythingturned into lies dear
Stands alone this rose",
is ringing in my heart for ever.
As Wordsworth bore the music
of theSolitary Reaper of the deep vale,
I will bear these two lines in my mind
till I breathe last in this beauteous world.
