The Sleeping Warrior Poem by YAKUBU GIWA

The Sleeping Warrior

A deep cry sound in my ear
Like a strong thunder during nightmare
I become shortly dead due to fear
Heart trembles as if danger’s near
open like the bright moon along the sphere
And query roll, up why here?

To the closest sight was a large crowd
A resemblance of the ant crowd
With the nucleus of a mankind
Almost visited by the soul claimant
While a large cry help, he made

Enquiry provided who the crowd was
Of course, United Nations was the response
Islam the man at the nucleus
And among the sleeping warriors

I made a loud call on the Muslim nation
Expecting a sharp response to the situation
Alas! deep asleep were the believers
And the call passed through to the ocean

The persistent call never went in vain
It awoke a little fraction of the sane
With eyes swollen like a dropping rain
While the conscience was admitting an endless vain

Your fellow warriors go through daily killings
A brutal murder was carried out on Palestinians
The same experience in Iraqi and Afghanistan
And today is Lebanon or Lebanese
Are you still in your deep sleep?
While Muslims are daily raped
And Muslim brethren are tortured with electrocution and Crucifixtion?
And Muslim children are victims of genocide
Why not give a quick response to the call
And abandon your sleeping mall
And pull forward in united force
Against the west and the allied force
