The Seasons Of Life Poem by Varghese Kuncheria

The Seasons Of Life

The Seasons of Life
By Joji Varghese Kuncheria is from the anthology'ONE STEP AT A TIME' published at Amazon.

Life springs forth in vibrant childhood.
It's real Spring time and we embrace it
With childish vigour and enthusiasm.
Not a thing to worry or a thing to hurry,
Flying high around the garden of life,
Like many a butterfly that goes merry.

School days are bright as sunshine,
Warm and sunny as Summer time.
Still not to worry on many a thing,
Soon to forget and to embrace new.
The world ahead is an open stage,
Wide open to venture and prevail.

Looking ahead to an autonomous life,
We plunge into the Autumn of our life.
Many challenges to subdue or leap over,
But many a life dwindle in tantrums.
Turbulent times come as hurricanes,
The brave cross over to the yonder shore.

All the dreams and wishful thoughts
Are now kept at bay on a Winter shore,
As we come to a divine enlightenment:
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are His ways higher than our ways",
And we learn to submit and wait instead.

This is the season of life at its best.
Cares and worries now all buried down
By the downy snowflakes falling.
Relax and enjoy the days in full vigour,
With a red goblet and a book of verses.
Expect the coveted laurel of gold crown.

Life is not limited to this earthly abode,
If not, it is all vanity as Solomon says.
So, take courage to live it in full vigour,
Thus enduring, thus pursuing intently,
For peace on Earth and for all mankind,
For the haven of eternal dreams to come
