The Sea Poem by Bengt O Björklund

The Sea

Swirl you origin of unending watery curves,
you cause of bright flickering reflections
rolling over breaking bastions of faith
with their ragged coastline struggle,
waves unfettered by the untouchable air,
merging with the air’s transparencies.

Singeing what ifs curl and die
at the face of slow inevitability,
easy weakness fortifies a familiar name
when rolling liquid is cheap
and the opaque keep its essence
inside breaths of deep blue tonalities.

The ice that breaks at beach dawn
forfeits all of your lost libation’s intentent,
sallow planetary dreams surface walks
at the gates of day eye surveillance.
Who is the seer at the doorway?
Who is it that baits continuance with worms?

Pink indecent spreads of desire
drift over smooth waves of wisdom
where genetic belonging is more
than a physical drive
into uncharted survive marshes
of straight breakable songs.
