The Scars Poem by Sami Woodall

The Scars

Rating: 5.0

The scars remind me,
that the past is real,
the scars remind me,
to have no fear.

The scars tell me,
whats done is done,
the scars remind me,
the battle has yet to be won.

Sami read my bio page and tell me if I have the right to cut. I tried to take my own life twice when I was a teen, but I was caught both times. So I figured 'hey girl, it's time to wake up and see the sun'. I woke up and wrote all of my cutting and suicide thoughts down on paper. Then when I got my first internet computer, I wrote everything on the screen and shared it on a few sites. Now with their help, I am moving forward in my battle to be me, but I am doing it with confidence. So my dear, no matter what happens in our lifetime, we can overcome and without harm to ourselves. This poem has a lot of pain in it, and like I said tho, there is nothing we can't overcome. You get a 10 for this. Hugs, Barbara
