The Salient Poet Poem by Ishmael Mabhiza

The Salient Poet

Behold I stand upon the earth
I look around to find one next the depth
Alas, I found not an impeccable being
Outstanding, shining like a diamond ring
Exceptionally built, expressing it all
Words with thorns for them all
Tears wipers, love whispers
Courage givers, trouble skippers

Indeed saliency is a virtue
Like decency is very true
