The Root Of Evil Poem by Daya Nandan

The seed of good and evil lies within everyone,
Born into every human's daughter and son,
These seeds eventually grow roots within our being,
Guiding our actions with our minds agreeing,

But the thing about these trees grown from seeds,
Based on virtues and vices that influences deeds,
We can choose which tree within us to nurture and grow,
And through that our judgement and actions will show,

We can nourish the tree of virtue if we feed it with love,
We can help it grow up high to the heavens above,
It grows stronger with virtuous thoughts and acts,
That of compassion, love and care that helps the soul relax,

But i we keep evil thoughts and commit crimes the evil tree grows,
Corrupting and tainting our minds and souls with demonic glows,
All the colours of evil in a dark spectrum of concentrated vices,
Contaminating the nourishment of the mind and soul with poisoned spices,

The tree of evil has made many men murder and hate,
Evoking darkness from their soul that can almost never abate,
We must kill the tree of vice within to honor the slaughtered
Starve it of nourishment for the roots of evil will die if it is not watered
