The Romantic One Poem by Ivana Valasik

The Romantic One

I want to tell
the whole world
How your looks and smiles
bewilder me
How astonishing
your heart is
How you bring
my romantic self
from its grave
How you gave me
a completely new
view on myself
How you changed me
I want to tell
the whole world
but I want nobody
to know

This is very clever. You show the tension between wanting to proclaim our good fortune to the world, to glorify our selves and make ordinary people jealous, and the fear that, yes, they will be jealous and come after what we have and steal it. OR it could after waiting and waiting for the right person to enter our lives, we don't want to spend more tired time in dreary society, but rather want to withdraw to a bower of bliss with our main squeeze and enjoy our bliss privately.
