The Roadside. Poem by Mogare Nyamoko

The Roadside.

Today as I walked
On the road and my eyes
Rotated to the roadside,
She was there with her face shining like the sun
And her yellow dress reselecting of herself,
A scratch on my eyes
To make sure she was real
Such an angel.

I swear a wave I caught.
Like a fly caught in a web
I wanted to continue on my errands
But the heart had stopped pumping blood
And her love in hallucinations
It pumped to the veins.

She must have been aware
Of a man motionless,
Of a man dumb
Of a man with eyes out like guavas
For her tender hand was awakened me.
