The Richest Miser Poem by Vincent Feliciano

The Richest Miser

How I despise
the basins of lies
my arrogance promised
and my confidence prized

I begrudge the pains
made by capital gains
that only made me heir
to permanent change

The damage is done
my victory won,
So why does my heart
say I never had one?

This wealth amassed
made me none the wiser
It has only made me
the richest miser
