The Rich Sinner... Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Rich Sinner...

the big house
with seven doors and ten windows
the six dogs and the
two mules
the four cars and the two
drivers
the sala filled with
sofas and iron stools
the dining area
with brewing coffee
and chocolate cookies
the daily newspaper on
your favorite table
your smoking pipe
from Cuba
and your life jacket brought
from Russia
your watch from Geneva
and your shows
from Austria

be thankful for all
these
not one of them
knew
what big sin you
once had
to make them know
that you
are of no value
at all.
