The Rich Man And Lazarus Poem by Cindy Wyatt

The Rich Man And Lazarus

There is a true story that the bible does tell
About a certain man who died and went to hell

In hell he lifted up his eyes in torment and pain
And knew he was doomed forever in that tortuous flame

On earth he was very rich and fared sumptuously every day
But he didn’t know Jesus, so for eternity his sins he had to pay

In this story also a poor beggar named Lazarus died too
But he knew Jesus, so away on angel wings to Abraham’s bosom he flew

The rich man begged for a dropp of water for his tongue to get some relief
But there was a great gulf between them because of his unbelief

For the rich man it was too late to be rescued from his fate
He said “send someone to warn my brothers lest they also get in this state.”

But God said ”They have the bible to tell them about Jesus to believe”
By hearing God’s word and accepting Him, salvation they can receive

If you do not know Jesus, please accept him right now while you can
Before you take your last breath and end up like the rich man

Jesus paid your sin debt so you would not have to go to this awful place
Just trust him with your heart to forgive your sin and he will save you by his grace

Luke 16: 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the top of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

John 3: 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
