The Remains Poem by Sally Plumb Plumb

The Remains

Rating: 5.0

This is where nightmares live
deep in the mind,
unshakeable
and sometimes true.

I dived for wisdom
among silver shells,
Chinese lanterns glowing
fire.
I wondered
in theforest of thought
how much time
had been misplaced
looking for my past.

Lasting, as memory does,
I stand in the vacuum
you've left behind,
drawing thoughts from nowhere,
wonderingwho I am.

A different kind of poem for Sally Plumb- about alienation and emptiness it seems, and even nightmares and she writes about it with poetic grace but I miss the clever charm Sally is so quick and consistent with!

Being confronted with death isn’t very charming. Nice try. Best wishes. Sally
