The Red Dragonfly Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Red Dragonfly

Rating: 4.8

After the rains washed
Our garden trees
A red dragonfly enjoyed the breeze
Spreading its fine gossamer wings

Then it alighted on a tree
Looking so tiny and yet so bright
Like a ruby on emerald green
A delicate silver winged queen

Its beauty radiating from a distance
Held me captive in a trance
Soon it rose and flew away
Its morning visit made my day

I also enjoy watching dragonflies. A beautiful poem, specially loved the 2nd stanza. Full vote.

A beautiful view of Nature's jewels. Beauty can be found everywhere in nature and give us inspiration for the day. A melancholy day seems to fade away when I see the beauty all around me. thank you poetess and friend.10
