The Real You Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

The Real You

She caught your eye.. to you, most beautiful maiden
in haste your heart sang of wonderful praises
calming tunes of love to her you offered
then she flickered her long lashes..

unparalleled elation immediately at once you felt..
eagerly narrated to her, your unending traits
in her lap you unerringly pledge love
eternal vow of worship and cares

'I am brave and mighty warrior from incredible east,
highest Mt. Everest can easily climb and reach
fast winds, in just my whistle shall stop
powerful storms I can catch..'

for you lady, I can be the greatest poets of all time
'I can write thousands ever romantic poems,
garlands of my garden to you I shall give'
maiden of your dreams then smiled..

In a corner of your garden you saw me sitting nearby
and remembered, for me once, you sang lullaby
then you noticed my eyes were sad but dry
slowly the memories to you came by..

looking at me you said silently: 'you know the real me! '
'the woman who truly loves me, my true identity
you know that I'm afraid of water, can't swim
rushing wind, my red eyes easily sting'

You said: 'flowers in my garden, asthma it delivers
poem writing, hard words gives me the shivers
my scare of sharks in deep dark waters
yes woman, you're one who cares..'

I looked in your eyes and said: 'worry not my darling,
never will I expect you to give me a shooting star
we shall cross the seas of love in a canoe
I am the happiest just to be with you..'

In hush you whispered to me: 'I left the beautiful maiden..
..I've awaken from the deep and long spellbinder'
but you're surprised when I asked you this:
'if ever she learns who is the real you,
will enchanting maiden still love,
care for you as much as I do? '
