The Passing Of A Friend Poem by Ann Beard

The Passing Of A Friend

Today I mourn the passing of a friend
I accept that life can often be unkind
Shedding tears to blunt the edge of pain
I gently carve her likeness in my mind.

The bluest sky has turned a murky grey,
To sound of abject misery.
Today a link with youth has died.
The sky has drained of colour for me

Today I mourn the passing of a friend
I accept that life can be unkind
Using tears to blunt the edge of pain
I gently carve her likeness in my mind
