The Parent Of The Siblings Poem by Francis Duggan

The Parent Of The Siblings

The parent of the siblings arrogance conceit and pride
That ego lives in all of us can never be denied
Those who are low in ego are low in self esteem
For success humans depend on ego or that's how it would seem
Success can go to your head when others your praises sing
But a fully inflated ego for you not a good thing
It can give you a superiority complex which is not good for you at all
You often hear about pride it comes before a fall
The ego lives in all of us that's how 'twould seem to me
Though others may think different we all think differently
On any given subject few ever do agree
Perhaps we would be different if we were ego free
Yet the ego lives in all of us and it might be fair to say
That for many what should be a gift in arrogance we pay.
