The Other Day Poem by Aron Lelei

The Other Day

Memories are today burdening my heart
They are offering solace to memory archives
And are aerating dust saliva with laughter
Yet down low in my heart and soul
Are memories of yester years and past events
My heart is filled with events of ages
And remembrance of the other day

Joyous shouts of laughter of babies and birds
The piglets, chicks and the kitten’s playfulness
All fill my memory storage warehouse
And tells me what occurred are just myths
And memories engraved on the plates of the heart
This will be delivered to the future readers
And that will act as records of past events
And remembrance of the other day

Events of yesterday are still fresh in my mind
They tell me what happened to my self-physiology
The life changing events and the friend’s memoirs
This culminated to their bows in prayer
And supplications for just once more to my life
And a date to make stepping stones of success
That will act as records of imitation
And remembrance of the other day

Events of yesterday may be history today
Yet still they remind me much in store
And guide my thoughts as I try to think
And come to terms with life’s reality
Same that guided our fellow fore-parents
And the same that gives us power to live
We may have not long to talk and think
Save sole remembrance of the other day
