The Other Daughter Poem by Kadelynn Roberson

The Other Daughter

she was perfect
she was everything

im was still here
but i was nothing

one day things will change
maybe for the worst

maybe for the better
maybe i'll be first

only time can tell
thats the only thing

maybe she'll be the pauper
and i'll be the queen

it might sound ridiculous
but we all dream

i just want credit where credit is due
i have paid dues

i work hard as anyone else
but its not good enough

i'll have to be superwoman
just for them to notice me

im just whats-her-name?
you know that other girl

sometimes its like you were...
like you were never there

its easy to looked over
when you were never in the spotlight

i dont ask for much
i just want one thing

i just want credit where credit is due
i have paid my dues

i have worked hard as anyone

yet she was perfect
she was everything

but im still here
and im still nothing
