The only thing worse than wasting time

And so the saying goes, as time changes, people change to
it's funny how a stupid saying can alter everything in you
days turn into weeks turn into months turn into years
friends turn into strangers making you turn into someone you don't know
that someone is regret

and she tells you not to worry, that everything will be alright
and he tells you to stay strong, you'll get through this, it's not that hard
who are you to say it's not that hard
when you don't share my chains and you don't have my scars
you judge me by the marks on my skin
while God judges you by the marks within
days turn into weeks turn into months turn into years
friends turn into strangers making you turn into someone you don't know
that someone is regret

long nights with no sleep, put the blade to my skin
this darkness has taken control once again...regret...
my name is regret, I regret all of this
but as the darkness subsides a light emerges
and I have been forgiven
seconds turn to minutes turn to hours turn to days
turn to weeks turn to months turn to seasons turn to years
friends turn into strangers just as regret turns into forgiven
forget regret, you are forgiven

I would live in your love as the sea-grasses live in the sea,
Borne up by each wave as it passes, drawn down by each wave that recedes;
