The Only Quest Poem by Ramesh Adwant

The Only Quest

Rating: 5.0

Five nights have passed since I saw you last,
And still the gloomy face haunts me,
Unresolved, the question weighs dully on me,
And I ask what all this really means.

We made our decisions and stood by them,
Our future needs we left to the future.
The nearness mattered not till we were near,
But your absence has really made a void.

My resolution keeps me going strong,
But your tears dissolve my ambition.
The image of watery eyes parts not,
It unnerves, irritates, pricks, gnaws and questions.

Your picture hangs silence on the cracked wall,
The clock ticks, chasing the steps of time,
I sit glum not knowing how I can make,
The far come near, and still near, and still.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

‘But your absence has really made a void.’ This voidness carries the whole poetry forward… here you succeeded poetically… Very good poem 10+ Ms. Nivedita UK
