The Old Lady Poem by felix paintwhenpainted

The Old Lady

I like watching other people on tv
said the wrinkling old lady
helps me remember the days in which i was free
I think I will go there, one day, maybe

she smiles as she changes to another channel
one show after another. keeping time like a clock's ticker
sees handsome young faces. some competitions judges panel
her glassed over eyes hypnotized by the tv's mindless flicker

she wants to go with this presenter to Peru
I want to, I wish i could, feel young again
she wants to try out this program's new hair due
I wish it had, I wish it wouldn't, stay the same

nobody will know till too late what her vision beholds
she has no way of telling the young about growing old
