The 'Off' Button Poem by Renu Beri

The 'Off' Button

Leaning against the window bar,
Looking at the landscape far,
Eyes that looked but did not see,
The clouds, the trees or the blue sea.

The little heart searched around,
With restricting shackles tightly bound,
Heart that searched but did not find,
Love, affection or sentiments that bind.

Lips that opened only to close,
Brightly attractive like a blooming rose,
Lips that could not emit a cry,
However hard they did try.

Arms that reached out full length,
Showing their muscles and their strength,
Hands that only grasped the air,
Considered neither valuable nor rare.

Feet that stomped loud and fast,
Ever heard such a noisy blast!
All stopped eerily and sudden,
When Tommy pressed the ‘Off' button.
