The Night Courts Poem by Matthew Holloway

The Night Courts

The night courts you
Sleepless and restless thoughts
Explore every dream and fantasy
Known to the heart and soul
Your name echoes in the silence
Of my darkened chamber
Where I lay alone waiting
To sleep or hear you call out to me
Such hopes draw out the night
Languish in the loneliness and void
The night judges my aspirations
My wishes and dreams
The night courts you my sweet
Near perfect ideal of a love
I am yet to discover, learn of
What jury sits and listens
To such words as these I offer
The night courts you my love
To bare witness to my soul
