The Never Ending Climb Poem by Drew Bailey

The Never Ending Climb

Rating: 4.5

Decrying a large tree standing tall,
I climb as high as I can be.
There are six things which I see:
The sky above, which lies o'so far away, unreachable;
The dense grove below,
Holding back at me;
The surrounding plains, reaching the horizon;
and one massive canopy, so lush;
But what shows above all else that grows,
A prodigious tree,
Towering above all,
standing as'a mountainous wall.
One thing defines what I view finally,
The path I must take for my climb to cease.
