The Mother I Know Is Dying Poem by Heather Kemper

The Mother I Know Is Dying

The mother I knoe is dying,
her soul is going to heaven above.
I look at her crying,
I don't understand
where is the look of love?
She looks at me with stone gray eyes
that look you see is one of lies.
No one ever told me
that mother's often die.
They only told me it was a sin to ever lie.
I'm sorry that I failed you
please give me one more chance.
Mommy I am so sorry,
please don't raise your hand.
I didn't mean to honest.
I just was so afraid.
If you'll only listen now..
I promise I'll obey.
The pain I felt just then
wasn't from that stone cold hand...
It was from the lack of love..
and a feeling I didn't understand.
