The Most Beauteous Of Them All (For Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Ii) Poem by Anita Shanti Joseph

The Most Beauteous Of Them All (For Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Ii)

Tears of joy and laughter
Gather as the storm.
The crowd pulled and filled along
Words distil to form images
Oh gently so sweetly – a train
The mind unveils – the walk
To describe such a beauty
The most beauteous of them all.
Where goes her Majesty today?
Pristine, sweet and fair
I stare at a photograph
Eating a piece of plumcake at Bosotto
And remember the golden miles
In her golden times
Warm as the sun ever shined
Conveys a smile to me, that breaks the air.
In every Great Briton’s heart
Fireworks glorious like a missal to last
A stirring wind whispers
To love a lovely rose
With nectar borne within
Those pearls around her stately neck
In aquamarine hue
Pretty as a dazzling dew
The perfume caught me on.
Oh Britain, great land of beauty
Have ye forgotten much today?
Come arouse in me a song
If dreams could sell
I would have them all:
And set my soul apart
To play my harp aloud
While she swept across graciously
Every inch of the isle.
Each step to close the distance
Fun and flares of celebrity
The encore rends my soul
I sang amidst the jubilee
Oh Lord bless our Queen
And my tears were drowned
In the celebration of the tide
Somewhere a gentle string tugged hard.
By Faith I was found, as
Music filled my lungs
And I burst into a joyous song
To watch her charm sway the world
Royalty carries a graceful grace
The sceptre held the calm
It will rule through the years
Yea it will.
Till our dreams dry down
Long live her Majesty!
The past ever present with us
Leaving the trailing shadows behind
Bright red blooms of roses
Opened as day in us
Ask me and I say
Damnum fatale (the act of God)
History spells out
Her sovereign name, Elizabeth II of love and sacrifice
Duty bade her come
Where goes my Majesty
The heart and mind leads her on
While the train hoots and chugs along
My red, red rose of love and affection.
