The More You Know (The More You Give To Me) Poem by Colin Coplin

The More You Know (The More You Give To Me)

Rating: 4.0

Girl, I need to tell you, you’ve been on my mind
All the time, rain, hail, or shine

Walking hand in hand slowly through the park
Carving our initials into bark

Chasing shadows like ninja in the rain
And home again

You’re my best friend, when

You hold me close and never let me go,
The feeling grows
For the more you know, the more you give, to me

And when hurt rolls in on the wings of Thor
To mark our lives
With pain remorse and jealous times
You brush them aside

And hold me close and never let me go
For the more you know, the more you give to me

Making love in a phone booth in parliament
Or on a plane, a train, a some secluded beach at sunset

You’re my best friend, when

You hold me close and never let me go,
The feeling grows
For the more you know, the more you give, to me

And when hurt rolls in on the wings of Thor
To mark our lives
With pain remorse and jealous times
You brush them aside

And hold me close and never let me go
For the more you know, the more you give to me
