The Moon Heard My Thoughts Poem by Yine Fai

The Moon Heard My Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

On one lonely night
I lay on a bench outside
my house quietly gazing
at the solitary moon.
And in my heart, I was
wishing the moon could
hear my thoughts and
whisper same to the ear
of my lover who was far far
away from me.

No sooner on this thought,
my phone rang. It was my lover
calling me. And she said
' I am gazing at moon,
who is lonely without the stars.
Just the same way I am lonely
without you.'

Yes, even if there is distance no matter where we are everyone can see the moon which joins our hearts to one another :)

This beautiful poem has reminded me the Sanskrit epic Meghdoot(cloud messenger) penned by a great Indian poet named Kalidasa, a few centuries ago, who sought the services of a cloud for acting as a messenger for delivering his love message to his beloved. Amazing imagery. Thanks for sharing.10+ points.
