You tell me you love me
But act like we are just friends,
You tell me it me you want
But act indifferent towards me,
You tell me not to give up on you
But am not sure I want this anymore
I decide I am through
And I will not put more energy
Into this
I am closing this chapter
Then I see you and your eyes
Seem to be telling me something
Pleading with me
And your smile seems to
Be passing a message
I know what you are telling me
My subconscious mind gets
The message,
But I am in denial
I don’t want to read the message
Because I want the courage
The guts
And the strength
To leave you
To move on
And if I read the message,
My resolve will crumble
And my walls will shutter
And I will go back to a
Relationship that never was.
