The Magic Ocean Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The Magic Ocean

Rating: 3.8

The iris
dances

unafraid
before the God
of Thunder.

“Perun! ”
the iris sings to him.

“Perunika! ”
he laughs at her.

Here in the magic
ocean of the sky

a thousand mists
clothe their laughter.

*******

Perun is the Slavic God of Thunder and the Iris is his flower...thus Perunika.

Yes, is true, Perun is a Slavic God of Thunder :) How wonderfully you connected both the flower Perunika and the god. Your style is very romantic often inspired by the Mythology, sometimes exotic Mythologies. Like the classical romantic poets, they were also inspired by Barbarian and ancient Mythologies. Very pleasant reading.
