The Love And Memories We Wish We Never Had Poem by Nancy Handabile

The Love And Memories We Wish We Never Had

There are certain things
You learn to expect from yourself

Things you expect to feel

Emotions you expect to stir
There are certain beliefs
You wish you would share

Certain feelings you wish would disappear
There are certain illusions you wish
did not exist

AND LOVE FOREVER AN ELUSIVE MYTH

The things we need to un-believe

The odes we need to un-write

The moments to rewind

There are certain moments
We wish we could forget

AND LOVE FOREVER AN ELUSIVE MYTH

The great mysteries
That we wish we could unfold

The names we wish we could forget
I want to forget, to un-remember

The great loves that are but an elusive myth

A great illusion

THE LOVE WE DREAM OF YET CANNOT HAVE.
