The Lilies More Adorned Poem by Dominic George

The Lilies More Adorned

Having heard it, I laughed!
Is Solomon not the wise king?
So blessed with wisdom
Wealthy in his kingdom
Generations of peoples adore
And more

Yet the Lord hath saith
'Look at the lilies in the field grow...
...not even Solomon in all his wealth...'
O dear brothers and sisters
Where had we gone false
That flora 'could surpass' us
Whilst unable to walk with their roots?

Let's examine if we can learn
From the lilies more adorned
Perhaps we ought to be told
They testify the greatness of God
They neither complaint nor sin
Simply accept the Will given

I feel the flowers shout at me:
Accept all trials, remain in awe
Bear His wills and stay in bow
Through love and actions testify
And trust magnify
To live accordingly and remain small
To respect and love God most of all!

A created being, I am nothing

My Savior, I fear
