The Last Laugh Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

The Last Laugh

We laugh
When happy
To express joy,
When unhappy
To fake joy.
We laugh
To celebrate a success
victory, birthday.
Or
To overcome
Failure, difficulty
fear, anguish.
Everyone
on his own way.
Laughter has colour
When agonised
It is a pale one
When pleased,
it is a bright one.
But the last laugh is not a real laugh
It is a small smile
Impressive, expressive
Sedative, indicative,
Still more odds.
For all muscles loosen
For a while,
And the last submitive Nods,
To the last laugh
Which is God's
